Election Security in Ohio and Our County

As we approach election season, questions about our election security begin to surface. We are once again inundated with misinformation in the various media outlets regarding US election processes and voter fraud. But are these allegations true?
The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Wayne County invites the community to attend “Election Security in Ohio and Our County” to get the real facts straight from our local Board of Election Representatives. This is a free, public event where the audience will hear from Wayne County Board of Election Director, Julie Leathers Stahl and Deputy Director, Bryon Bell as they discuss how our local BOE ensures the security of our election process and the integrity of our voting results.
This event will occur in the Crown Ballroom of the Best Western Hotel & Conference Center (243 W. Liberty St., Wooster, OH) at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
The speakers will explain the responsibilities of their positions and why each of them must represent a different political party. Among the topics they will discuss are safeguards in the voter registration processes, how absentee ballots are controlled and verified, bi-partisan oversight of voting and results tabulation plus security of election equipment both during the election process and in storage. How community members can get more involved in our local election processes will also be covered.
In addition, the speakers will share information on how erroneous data on voting fraud can arise and provide some statistics on how often illegal voter registration and voting fraud actually occur. Questions for the speakers will be welcomed following the presentation.
