DESCRIPTION:Last November\, Ohio voters approved Issue 2 by a margin of 57% to 43%. Advocates for the measure asked voters to make marijuana “legal like alcohol.” So is it like having a glass of wine? Today’s cannabis products are much more potent than the weed of the 70s. And if it’s so benign why are people ending up in the ER? Our program will be on Monday\, April 22 at 7PM\, at 1st Presbyterian Church. Members and the public are encouraged to attend. \nOur speaker is Dennis Helmuth\, MD\, a psychiatrist with certification in addiction psychiatry. He’ll present the latest information on the mental health effects of cannabis. Come and find out what everyone should know about marijuana\, now that it is legal in Ohio

DESCRIPTION:Candidate Roundtable: New Format!\n\n\nOur fall 2022 Candidates Night was an informative meeting between voters and candidates!  We had almost 100 people out  for the event\, and everyone really liked the approach of rotating group discussions with the candidates.  We had candidates there for Wayne County Commissioner\, Ohio Statehouse\, and US Congress.\nComments from Attendees:\n\n 	It was terrific! Great job organizing this!\n 	A number of people were happy that LWV found a way to let candidatesspeak even though their opponent was a no-show.\n 	It was very well organized and ran smoothly. Allcomments were extremely positive.\n 	I thought it was an excellent format.  Thanks to all organizers for such an interesting and useful evening.\n 	One attendee was thrilled with the format but especially with how the facilitator of her groupasked questions — not confrontational but civil\, “a model for all of us to follow”\n 	Terrific event!!!\n\nShisler Conference Center Ballroom CFAES/OARDC\nThursday\, October 6\, 2022 at 6:30pm\nA Non-partisan public event sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Wayne County\n\nNote: program will not be recorded this year.\n\n\n\n
